“In the visit of the chancellor of Guilan University of Medical Sciences to
Armenia, while meeting with the ministers of health and science, and the board
of directors of Yerevan State Medical University, the guidelines to expand the
cooperation between Guilan and Armenia in the health field were considered.”

Establishing a memorandum
of understanding on educational cooperation with Yerevan State Medical
University, holding joint workshops by the specialists of both universities,
holding fellowship courses for Armenian specialists in Guilan University of
Medical Sciences, providing nursing education at the specialized levels for
nurses and applicants in Armenia by Guilan University of Medical Sciences,
student exchange, establishing and setting up clinical educational centers,
providing health care and health tourism services by the professors of Guilan University
of Medical Sciences  in Armenia, were the achievements of the travel of Guilan
University of Medical Sciences chancellor to Armenia.

It is noteworthy that all
meetings were held with the presence of Iran’s ambassador in Armenia and
pre-arranged by the Consular Section of the Iranian Embassy in Armenia. The
Vice-Chancellor for Education and the Director of the University International
Affairs accompanied the Chancellor of Guilan University of Medical Sciences on
this trip. This is the first time in the history of Guilan University of Medical
Sciences that the expansion of international activities has been considered at
this level.

It is worth mentioning
that Guilan University of Medical Sciences has put the internationalization of
health activities in line with the outlook of the strategic plan on its agenda. Participating
in international health events, concluding mutual agreements, joint educational
and research cooperation in the international arena, holding workshops and
training courses with the presence of international professors are among the
activities undertaken in this area.
